If you are a part of the problem, then how can you be part of the cure?
In the documentary we watched this question was brought up by the doc maker. It really made me think about people’s mindset in a bad situation and why they reason the way they do. If they’re a part of the problem they have to stop being a part of the problem before they can be a part of the cure, and in that situation it means getting disowned by everyone. Its hard for someone to do such a thing if everyone doesnt follow because you get branded a “snitch” and you will never be liked or trusted ever again.
If you don’t have a choice about where you live, then how can you have a choice about what rules you live by?
I dont think you really do. You live somewhere and in a place where where you live is a big part of your identity, you have to follow the rules that are set in that community just like how you have to follow normal rules and laws made by authorities. To me it seems like a community with their own rules and standards that everyone follows and thats just how it is. You dont get to choose the rules you live by.
